How do I cancel my server?

If you are having an issue with your server, do not hesitate to send a message to support. We will respond to your issue as quickly as possible. We are normally able to offer a solution quickly or even update the control panel to fix your issue.

If you still want to cancel, follow the steps below.

Log in to the server dashboard.
Click "Transactions" in the menu on the left.
Scroll to the bottom and click the button that says "Cancel My Server Subscription".
You will be redirected to PayPal to cancel the recurring payment.

Question 2

Can I execute a script from the in-game chat?

Yes, you can. The scripts are held in a separate folder for each server. To execute a script from the game, you will need to find your server ID. This is a number which can be found by connecting to the server and typing "server,listtracks" in game. The tracks will be displayed as serverID/tracks/track.trackinfo (ex: 12/tracks/alcrest.trackinfo).

Once you find your Server ID, executing a script in game is done like this: server,exec serverID/scripts/script.mxs (ex: server,exec 12/scripts/myscript.mxs)

Currently the following commands are recognized:

Ignores chat messages from the specified group when you're racing.

server,gate

Sets the current client's gate preference.

server,listplayers [search string]

Lists all the clients on the server. If search string is given, only

list players whose name or number matches the string.

server,listtracks

Lists the tracks available on the server.

server,play

Puts current client in player mode for further races.

server,spec

Puts current client in spectator mode for further races.

server,restart

Votes to restart the race.

server,norestart

Withdraws vote to restart the race.

server,forceplay

Forces the specified client into player mode for further races.

server,forcespec

Forces the specified client into spectator mode for further races.

server,lock

server,unlock

Locks/unlocks the server. When the server is locked players start out

in spec mode and cannot switch from spec to play mode and vice versa.

Selects the next track in the list.

Question 4

How do I add tracks to my server?

Adding tracks to the server is simple.

Save a .trackinfo file for the track you want to upload to the server. You can do this by starting a single player race on the track and typing "/savetrackinfo" in the chat. This will save the .trackinfo file in your MX Simulator personal folder.
Once you have this file, navigate to the "Tracks" tab of your control panel.
Simply drag and drop one or more trackinfo files into the upload box.
Now click the "+" button at the top right of the track list.
Finally, select a track and add an amount of minutes and laps.

Below is a video showing an overview of the control panel. It is slightly outdated, but tracks are still added in the same way. The tutorial for adding tracks starts at 5:25.

Question 5

I just see "contacting server" when trying to connect to my server.

This issue can be caused by many things. The following is a step by step guide to troubleshoot this problem:

Make sure you are not the only one having problems connecting.
- If you are the only one having a problem connecting to your server, you may have a firewall issue on your router.
- Your computer may also have a firewall rule blocking MX Simulator from accessing the server.
Make sure the server is on.

This may seem obvious but it is worth double checking. Stop and start the server just to be sure.

Check the server log in the settings page to see if it is giving any errors.

This may directly tell you what the issue is or at the very least it will help us narrow down the possible issues.

Double check your settings page and verify each setting is in the proper format.

This is the most common cause of issues with servers not turning on properly. Follow the examples next to the text fields for each setting to verify they are in the expected format.

If all the above steps fail to fix your issue, create a support ticket.

Question 6

Track Presets Act Strangely

We have identified an issue with track presets. After selecting a new preset, the tracklist does not update to the correct preset. The tracks will not be imported properly into the server. We are working on a fix for the issue, but in the meantime here is a workaround:

After selecting a preset, refresh the page to see the correct tracklist.
Stop and start the server to make sure the correct tracks are added to in-server list.
